POSITION SUMMARY:  The Director of Facilities Engineering is responsible for planning and designing processes to assure an appropriate, effective, safe reliable environment for patient care services and business operations. Coordinates the day-to-day management of inspections, calibrations, maintenance, and repairs of the buildings, infrastructure, and grounds of CCMC. The Director will maintain an ongoing assessment of the condition of the building, infrastructure, and grounds of CCMC to determine the needs for overhaul or replacement. Develops operational and capital budgets for maintenance, operation, and minor construction managed through the Engineering Department. They will participate in the planning, bidding, construction, and commissioning phases of major construction projects. Also, participates in the strategic planning process. Will oversee the development and management of appropriate environmental and patient safety program components related to engineering activities. Will maintain compliance with licensure regulations, accreditation standards, and other applicable codes, regulations, and standards.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1.

Bachelorís degree in Construction Management, Facilities Management, a field of Engineering or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

1.

Five (5) years of associated engineering experience in a healthcare setting in one or a combination of the following areas: facility management; operations and maintenance; clinical engineering; safety and security; planning, design and construction; or environmental management.

2.

Five (5) years of experience in a management/supervisory/administrative capacity in a healthcare setting.

1.

Develop and manage day-to-day operation of a process for maintenance   of all building, grounds, and infrastructure systems of CCMC.

2.

Oversees the development of an effective construction project planning and management program.

3.

Develop and manage a process to assure continuous compliance with accreditation, environmental, fire safety, licensure, and other codes, regulations, and standards

4.

Manage the ongoing development and operation of the Environment of Care Safety Program

5.

Participates as a member of the Quality Management and Patient Safety Committees

6.

Works with the Management Advisory Group

7.

Conducts all activities within guidelines

8.

Ensures that qualified staff are hired and trained to provide competent care through development, implementation and ongoing support of appropriate competency based orientation, education, and evaluation programs

9.

Continually assess the staff and skill mix of the engineering department to identify needs for staffing changes and/or education to maintain the ability of the Engineering Department to meet the needs of management and medical staff of CCMC

10.

Develop annual and capital budgets to assure availability of staff and equipment resources required to effectively operate and maintain the building, grounds, and infrastructure of CCMC

6.
