POSITION SUMMARY:  The Skilled Refrigeration Technician provides skilled preventive maintenance and repair work throughout hospital. In order to complete assigned duties the Skilled Refrigeration Technician will have access to all clinical and non-clinical departments including locked medication rooms.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1.

 High School education or equivalent

2.

Must have a valid driver’s license

3.

HVAC Technician License

EXPERIENCE:

1.

Five (5) years’ experience with refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, heating and cooling controls, and air quality standard/regulations

1.

Ability to be scheduled for work based on operational needs of the Department and Medical Center.

2.

Responsible for environmental conditions of the air quality, temperatures affects the health and wellbeing of patients, visitors, and employees.

3.

Supervises General Maintenance workers by allocation and coordinating workflow, training, and advising in more complex phases of assignments.

4.

Performs general carpentry duties, repairs and installs plumbing and equipment.

5.

Provides skilled preventive maintenance and repair work throughout the hospital.

6.

Maintains non-mechanical parts of emergency generator.

7.

The Skilled Refrigeration Technician has access to, and is responsible for, performing assigned duties in locked medication rooms. The Skilled Refrigeration Technician is aware that they are not responsible for medications and they should report any unsecured medications to a licensed professional.
